Gracious Society? - It begins at the TOP

The past week of pitching for the opposition wards has been less then gracious. Where is the call to be a gracious society? Is it just a feel good notion or should one be gracious when the situation is favorable towards you? ??? Yesterday, two letters published in the Straits Times forum page (28 March 06) spoke up against sacarstic press reports made against the opposition wards namely, Potong Pasir and Hougang. The letters defended Mr Chiam See Tong's work in the ward. The letters were objective and honest. Potong Pasir residents, stick to your guns, well said, Ms Lena Soh Kwee Kim. It is true, Potong Pasir residents also pay taxes to the government, why can't the funds be made available to them. The carrot is always upgrading and calling them "Potong Kosong". For the 3rd time, Potong Pasir has been given the ultimatum, to wise up, otherwise, no upgrading, no lifts in every floor and no jogging facilities. In the last election, the carrot was, maybe the MRT will byp

my songggg

Hi HI ok, a little update on my song..i've changed the melody quite a bit.. but i think i am stuck after these 2 verses, I've modified the verses quite a bit. "Lord Your Love on Calvary Gave me life and caused me to see I turn my face I see Your grace Gave me faith to run this race I will walk in all of your ways Put behind my doubts and dismay Lord I want to trust and obey Even when my heart gives way" Just spoke to Andrew Yeo, asked me when you are stuck, how? He told me, just wait on the Lord. Yeap. I will wait on HIM. I'm praying that the chorus will reflect God...

Song 2006

I have recently bought a yamaha keyboard for $350.00 in hope that I can pick up, keyboard playing by just playing on the keyboard everyday. The progress I've made so far is encouraging and I continue to ask God to help me. The reason why I am learning to play the keyboard is also to help me with my song writing. Pastor WahLok came to our church for a worship seminar in February this year and his session on song writing has caused a resurgence in me to write songs. The songs I've written so far... 2003 - Running after You 2004 - Die to Me 2005 - My King 2006 - ??? I've been asking God for songs. I've not written anything for 2006. Hmmm.. and it's strange, last night I started on something. Here's the draft of the lyrics, I am still trying to work out the lyrics. May the Lord help me. "Lord your love on Calvary Give me life and caused me to see I'll turn my face upon your grace Give me strength to run this race I will walk in all of Your ways Always trus

my dog was naked: part 2

With a camera handphone, it's good. These pics were taken last Saturday when I brought zack home to nurse his wounds. He looks very naked right? He's ok now. His furs are growing back and his wounds are more or less healed although he is still in the habit of scratching. He went back 'home' to Sengkang. Hope he'll be totally itch-free soon.

My dog is "naked"

My dog returned from a one night's stay at the vet last night. He had some allergy on his paws and was thoroughly shaved to ensure that there were no other rash that were hidden. My sis cried when she saw him (another patient thought that her dog had died). She says Zack looks pathetic now. I haven't seen him yet, I'm going to do so after work. I promised to take pictures of him and post it online. One thing I know, I will be sad, but I won't cry because I know the shaving did good for him. to be continued....

JOB: The man of faith despite his many pains

Many lessons from Job can be gleaned. This book in the bible battles many popular thought about God. I realized quickly that there are no simple and straight answers to Job. Why do the righteous suffers? Why does a good man go through the pains of lives? Why? WHY? Why? Silence faces the anguished man. Job's Friends and their Understanding of God #1: "You must have done something wrong to displease God, that's why, Job, you are suffering...." Wrong for Job's situation although right understanding of the general principle of Obedience brings about blessings while disobedience brings about curses. Job suffered because God issued a 'challenge' to Satan. Job 1:8 “have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” (God reaffirmed Job again in Job 2:3) In God's eyes, Job was a blameless and upright man. He did nothing wrong. If anything added on to his pain,

"What do you want me to do for you?"

Mark 10:46 - 53 (NLT) Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus 46 And so they reached Jericho. Later, as Jesus and his disciples left town, a great crowd was following. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road as Jesus was going by. 47 When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus from Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48 "Be quiet!" some of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49 When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, "Tell him to come here." So they called the blind man. "Cheer up," they said. "Come on, he's calling you!" 50 Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. 51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked. "Teacher," the blind man said, "I want to see!" 52 And Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has
